HELP SAVE
LIVES IN YOUR COMMUNITY:
REMIND YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS TO ADOPT A SIMPLE
LIFESAVING CHANGE.
The Bear Valley Fire
Departments want to encourage residents to take the opportunity
to change the batteries in their smoke alarms while changing the
clock time. Replacing smoke alarm batteries at least once a
year is one of the simplest, most effective ways to reduce
tragic and needless deaths and injuries. In fact, working smoke
alarms nearly cut in half the risk of dying in a home fire.
While replacing
smoke alarm batteries, it is also recommended that residents
test their smoke alarms per the manufacturer’s instructions.
And, if families haven’t already developed and recently
practiced a home fire escape plan, now is the perfect time to do
so.
