The Big Bear Lake Fire Protection District invites applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. The Department is in open recruitment until the position(s) are filled.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Academy or equivalent, and obtain a Firefighter I certification within 6 months of employment
- Possess and maintain a Calif. EMT-P license
- Obtain and maintain Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency EMT-P accreditation within 60 days of employment
- Prior to employment, provide verification of successfully completing CPAT, Biddle or community college physical ability test as approved by the Fire Chief dated within 6 months of application
- Possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Possess and maintain CPR/HCP certification
- Possession of a valid California driver's license and obtain a Class B with Firefighter endorsement within one year of employment
- One year of related experience desirable
- Must reside within a 25 minute travel time to Station-281 within 18 months of employment

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$50,296 TO $61,877 Annual Salary
Insurance
District paid medical and dental insurance for employee and dependents. Additional benefits available at a cost to the employee including vision insurance, life insurance, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, cancer insurance, long term and short term disability, and flexible spending account.
Retirement
3% at 50 through the San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA – a reciprocal with PERS). 8% of employee portion paid by the District. The District deposits $50/month into one of four deferred compensation plans.
