Fire Chief

Rod Ballard began his Fire Chief duties with the Big Bear Lake Fire Protection District on April 6, 2009. Ballard comes to the Fire District with a wealth of experience, knowledge, and professional training. He possesses more than thirty-four years of emergency service experience; the last twenty-eight as part of the City of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department; the last four years as their Deputy Fire Chief, serving as Director of Emergency Medical Services and Wellness. Mark Mills
Assistant Fire Chief

Assistant Chief Mark E. Mills began his career as a third generation volunteer firefighter in South Carolina.  He was hired by the City of Newberry Fire Department where he worked his way through the ranks for 18 years from firefighter, engineer, lieutenant, captain and shift commander. More

Corinne began her employment with the City of Big Bear Lake, Building & Safety Division on October, 1986 as a Counter Technician. More

Sue began working for the Fire District in January, 2002.  Prior to transferring to the Fire District, she worked for the City of Big Bear Lake for 8 years between the Community Development, Planning, and Building & Safety Departments. More
