On June 4, the Firefighters
Quest for Burn Survivors visited Big Bear Valley to collect
donations. They arrived via a Mercy Air helicopter at Big Bear
City Airport with burn survivor Bill Jensen, Glendale fire
captain as the official greeting guest. After visiting all the
stations collecting more than $3,000 worth of donations, the
group dined at the Grizzly Manor, where owner Jayme Nordine
treated them to lunch.
With the generosity of each fire agency in Big Bear Valley,
the Quest will be able to provide assistance to men, women and
children that have been affected by burn injuries. The Quest
operates with a 100 percent volunteer staff.
