CPR

Would you know what to do in an emergency?

Time is critical and knowing what to do in the first few minutes can save a life, or prevent serious injury.

Unfortunately, most of us will encounter an emergency situation at some point in our lives. Attending a FIRST AID AND CPR training class is the first step toward learning how to help ensure the safety of your family, friends, and co-workers.

Our First Aid and CPR classes are taught by experienced Fire Fighters and Paramedics ensuring that "real-life" situations are addressed and taught. We have been offering this training to the public since 1990 because we know it saves lives. American Heart Association Certification is valid for two years.

The following levels of classes are offered:

  • First Aid + Heartsaver CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Heartsaver Healthcare Provider CPR/AED (HeartCode BLS)

These courses were developed by the American Heart Association. It provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency, until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services personnel through recognition and treatment of life threatening emergencies.

The AHA's Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration and a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.

HeartCode BLS uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.

After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on session with a voice-assisted manikin (VAM).

HeartCode BLS is for healthcare professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal BLS Course.

Pre-registration and payment is required the Monday prior to class date. Cost is $65 per person.
