Fire Prevention provides a wide range of services including commercial building inspections, plan checks, as well as fire code permit compliance clearance checks. Company inspections are performed on an annual or semi-annual basis. The Big Bear Fire Department also has a self-inspection program for many business occupancies.
All mandated CUPA HAZMAT compliance is performed by the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
Most matters are handled by the Big Bear Fire Department, at our headquarters, 41090 Big Bear Blvd. Regular business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Thursday. We are closed Federal holidays.
Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)
The Big Bear Valley Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) discusses both public and private concerns. Successful wildfire protection planning involves a review of all protection measures that contribute to a collective “systems approach” process. Eliminating the risk or threat is not always possible when living in a forest.
