Interim Captain Brian Lambert, with the crew from Truck 281 was first on-scene of a truck fire located on Catalina Rd. in Big Bear Lake on Friday, August 10, 2019. The three crew members from T-281 were quickly joined by three additional regular crew members and a paid call firefighter assigned to Engine 282. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were coming from the engine compartment and extending into the truck’s cab. The fire was knocked down within approximately five minutes. Crews sprayed water on the trees adjacent to the truck ensuring the trees were not damaged and there was no spread of fire into the vegetation.
