El Dorado Fire Update #1 from Chief Jeff Willis

An Advisory is issued to all communities within the Big Bear Valley.   The communities within the advisory area include: City of Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, Moonridge, Sugarloaf, Lake Williams, Baldwin Lake, Fawnskin, and other neighborhood communities.

This Advisory is issued in response to the Eldorado Fire that has caused the closure of Highway 38 and the evacuation order of Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks, Campgrounds, and other residences along highway 38 corridor up to Onyx Peak.

The intent of this Advisory is to increase awareness of the potential threat to the Big Bear Valley from the El Dorado Fire. In an effort to minimize the population of Big Bear Valley IF an evacuation ultimately becomes necessary, visitors are encouraged to postpone trips to the Big Bear Valley until the fire threat has passed.
