The Big Bear Fire Department is recruiting for the classification of Ambulance Operator- Paramedic. Under the direction of a Company Officer, the Ambulance Operator will respond to medical aids, rescues, and other emergency and non-emergency incidents as required. Career Advancement Opportunities: This position will have the opportunity to test for all promotional opportunities within the Big Bear Fire Department. Possible promotional opportunities consist of reclassification from Ambulance Operator-Paramedic to Firefighter- Paramedic and Flight Paramedic. All job qualifications and requirements must be met prior to testing for promotion.
Benefits: All employees of the Big Bear Fire Department are enrolled in San Bernardino County Employee’s Retirement Association (SBCERA) retirement system, accompanied by fully covered family health, vision, and dental benefits. While working a 48/96 shift schedule, the Ambulance Operator-Paramedic average annual salary is up to $77,764 with 16 hours of built-in overtime per pay period. Salary may be negotiable on the step scale based on previous experience.
